I am thinking of getting a moutain bike for some trail riding. Just curious to know what is the typical weight of such bike if I were to spend between $300-$400.

Every time I try to install the hooks, they strip right out of the ceiling. I am trying to find some type of ceiling stud to ***** into, but since I have to mount two hooks for each bike (I am trying to mount two bikes), I am unsure how to do this. Please let me know if you have experienced this and found a solution. I greatly appreciate the help.

I have at least 5000 miles on my well cared for Cannondale F900. All other components are in excellent shape.

I would appreciate some opinions on whether it makes sense to replace the drive train, or if I will get better VALUE buying a comparable new bike.
EDIT: Cables and chain are newer and probably salvageable… so everything else in this case including the derailleur…

I know the crankset is 170mm but I dont know the size of the bottom bracket. I know that the BB is a TruVativ Power Spline but I dont know if those come in more than one size? If I take the BB out will it tell the size on it?
